Objective: To describe available scientific evidence on non- pharmacologial treatments in postsurgical patient care. Methodology: A systematic, descriptive review was carried out according to PRISMA methodology, using search keywords “non- pharmacological measures,” “patients,” “post- operated,” AND, OR boolean connectors and inclusión and exclusión criteria, inlcuding 12 original articles in borh Spanish and English, collected from several sources: Virtual Health Library, Virtual Library UCACUE, SCOPUS, PubMed, Google Scholar. Result/Discussion: Six categories were defined: postsurgical pain handling, nursing interventions, benefist of parent contact in pediatric patients, and music and sound therapy in postoperative patients. Conlusions: Applying non- pharmacological treatments depends entirely on the type of surgery the patient undergoes.
