Ítem Solo Metadatos Relación de la vulnerabilidad social con la caries dental. Revisión de la literatura.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Sarango Pilco, David Rafael; Villavicencio Caparó, Ebingen; 1104731359Social vulnerability is present in our Latin American context and is defined as a result of social construction and historical context. It is reflected as a social risk due to certain adverse situations, such as lack of protection, exclusion, difficulty in accessing and using health services, educational level, socioeconomic income, housing in areas lacking basic services, and inequality, among others. Dental caries is referred to as an infectious and chronic disease, a product of the existing correlation between multiple risk factors, whether individual, social, or biological. This review was based on the search for a possible relationship between social vulnerability and dental caries through a systematic review of articles. It provided a positive outcome due to the difficulty of access to basic services, health, education, and adequate food, favoring an increase in the prevalence rate of dental caries within these social groups.
