Una revisión de la literatura(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2020) Sanmartín Rodríguez, Ana Estefanía; Ordóñez Crespo, Paola Alexandra; 0302710553; ., .OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this research was to establish which is the best method diagnosis for interproximal caries in children, through the evaluation of parameters such as their sensitivity and specificity. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The methodology applied was a bibliographic review of studies and documents such as systematic reviews, original articles and bibliographic reviews; for which the search was carried out in the databases data from Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science, Ebscohost, $cielo and Google Scholar finding 162 references of interest, however, finally 58 were included, the which meet all the inclusion criteria. RESULTS: When evaluating the parameters of sensitivity and specificity, the visual dinic examination presented numerical values of 0.95 and 0.84 respectively, which exceeded values presented by the diagnostic methods reviewed in this study: bitewing radiography, laser fluorescence (Diagnodent) and transillumination of the teeth. Near-infrared images (Diagnocam) CONCLUSIONS: Of the four most used methods to evaluate interproximal caries in children, it was found that the best method is visual clinical examination, to which is added the use of orthodontic separating bands, since these allow n achieve better visibility in these hard-to-reach areas. Therefore, this method is sufficient to assess dental caries. proximal in children
