Ítem Acceso Abierto Actualización en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de las manifestaciones pulmonares y sistémicas asociadas a hipertensión arterial pulmonar. Revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Morejón Flores, Génesis Dayana; Salinas Vázquez, Pablo Segundo; 0350326286Objective: To demonstrate, through the information gathered from academic search engines, updated scientific evidence on the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension, aiming for an individualized approach in practice according to each patient's clinical profile and risk factors. Methodology: A descriptive, quantitative, and analytical systematic review study will be conducted through the analysis of scientific data investigations on the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary and systemic manifestations associated with pulmonary arterial hypertension. This process will follow the PRISMA statement, focusing on the adult population. Results: Of the 18 selected research articles related to the age group, the mean age was 54.6 years, and the population comprised 3933 individuals, 79.3% women and 20.7% men. Before being included in the various studies, these individuals already suffered from pre-existing pathologies such as heart diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary fibrosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, connective tissue pathologies, diabetes, arterial hypertension, cancer, and human immunodeficiency virus. From the selected articles, the population group with the highest disease prevalence comes from the United States and European countries, in comparison to Latin American countries where statistics do not reflect accurate information on individuals suffering from this pathology, being under-diagnosed and lacking little scientific evidence.Ítem Solo Metadatos Casos presuntivos de VHI, identificados a través de pruebas rápidas en el laboratorio del Centro de Salud de Azogues del 2007 - 2009(Universidad Católica de Cuenca. Revisión sistemática.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Encalada Arévalo, Gilberto José; Salinas Vázquez, Pablo Segundo; 0302325733Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic was a disease that revolutionized the world, leading to the collapse of the worldwide healthcare system due to significant human losses caused by a novel disease. Furthermore, there was no adequate treatment, given the limited knowledge about this pathology. Consequently, it was declared a global pandemic and quarantine measures were implemented to reduce infection rates. Objective: To compare advances in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 pneumonia. Methodology: A retrospective systematic review with a non-experimental documentary design was performed according to the criteria of the PRISMA 2020 declaration. Results: A total of 495 articles were obtained, of which 35 met the inclusion criteria, 234 articles were excluded through automatic keyword searches, 48 were discarded as duplicates, 89 were in languages other than Spanish or English, 77 were not freely accessible, and 12 did not contribute to the research objectives. Conclusions: Chest computed tomography is one of the main diagnostic imaging methods since it has a higher image quality. It permits an adequate identification of the imaging patterns of lung lesions together with a CRP test and provides a definitive diagnosis. In the treatment, corticoids generate protection in microcirculation, reducing hospital stay and 16% mortality in patients.
