Ítem Solo Metadatos Eficacia de la estimulación magnetica transcraneal en el manejo del trastorno obsesivo compulsivo refractario al tratamiento convencional(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Riofrio Peña, Karina Alexandra; Salazar Castillo, Damaris Birmania; Solorzano Bernita, Rosa Elizabeth; 1105001604; 1105754236Obsessive compulsive disorder is a psychological disorder characterised by simultaneous obsessions and compulsions, however, it can manifest itself individually and is therefore difficult to diagnose and manage and is associated with a significant impairment of mental functioning in children under 25 years of age by 2.5%. The frequency of onset of this disorder is 2% to 4% in children and adolescents, and 2% to 3% in adults, taking into account that the conclusive presence of all symptoms can be diagnosed at around 20 years of age, however, most cases begin at the age of 12 years. Obsessive compulsive disorder is a chronic and disabling condition that often responds poorly to pharmacological and psychological treatments. The latest equipment designed to perform specific transcranial magnetic stimulation is related to the cortico-striatal-thalamo-cortical circuit, having a direct interference on the anterior simulated cortex and the prefrontal cortex; these two brain areas are hyperexcited in patients suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorders. This type of treatment is innovative in that it does not involve the chronic use of medication and does not represent any danger to the integrity of the encephalic tissue.
