An early approach is crucial for children's health, highlighting the importance of nursing care. Method: A literature review was carried out in scientific databases such as Scopus, Elsevier, Mediagraphic, Redalyc, SciELO, PubMed, and institutional pages including World Health Organization, Pan American Health Organization, National Institute of Statistics and Censuses. In the same way, the Health Sciences Descriptors were used for the keywords in Spanish, and the Medical Subject Headings were used for the English language. In addition, the main Boolean operators, AND, OR, NOT, and search equations were used. Results: Pediatric hernias have a variable prevalence. On the other hand, factors such as genetic predisposition, premature birth, and low birth weight increase the risk. Complications include strangulation and intestinal obstruction; the decision of surgical treatment is a debated topic since some can be resolved spontaneously. Finally, nursing interventions are based on empathetic communication, detailed information and emotional support; they are essential in pre-care and postoperative, contributing to the comprehensive recovery of pediatric patients. Conclusions: Nursing intervention in pediatric patients with hernias is crucial as it offers complete care to the child and their family. This constitutes a fundamental element in providing high-quality pediatric care, ensuring effective and complete care. Keywords: Hernias, pediatric patients, interventions, approach, nursing.
