Ítem Acceso Abierto Manejo integral del síndrome cardiorrenal tipo 2(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Saico Bermeo, Gabriela Michelle; Bueno Castro, Andrés Santiago; 0105881767Introduction: Cardiorenal Syndrome (CRS) is a very common pathology, consisting of both cardiac and renal damage, occurring in individuals with underlying conditions such as Chronic Heart Failure (CHF). In Ecuador, there are no studies on the morbidity and mortality of this pathology. However, a study in Brazil showed a prevalence of 54.1%, while another study in Cuba reported a mortality rate of 33.3% for those with CRS. The treatment is supportive, based on biomarkers, which could help improve patient prognosis. General Objective: To describe the updated comprehensive management of type 2 cardiorenal syndrome. Methodology: a literature review study was carried out, using important databases such as Pubmed, Cochrane, Web of Science and Elsevier, applying filters based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, obtaining a total of 51 articles. Results: It is hoped that the results of this study will be useful in providing proper pharmacological management of type 2 CRS, thereby aiming to reduce morbidity and mortality rates in affected patients. Articles from the last 5 years were referenced to obtain current information. Key words: Biomarkers, Cardiorenal Syndrome, Type 2, Pharmacological Treatment.
