Ítem Acceso Abierto Tasa de supervivencia de implantes dentales en pacientes diabéticos. Revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Sacoto Abad, Luis Marcelo; Oviedo Serrano, María Daniela; Inga Delgado, Xavier Orlando; 0302969712; 0705922854; ., .Dental implant therapy is considered a successful oral rehabilitation treatment. The Advances in design, surface characteristics, and surgical protocols make the implant rehabilitation an effective treatment alternative for edentulous areas and solve functional, phonetic, aesthetic and psychological problems, however, factors of such as diabetes, can compromise osseointegration or negatively affect the maintenance of peri-implant biological health. Marginal bone loss (MBL) and Plaque Index (PI), have been used to identify related peri-implant diseases with oral rehabilitation with implants. The objective of this systematic review was to analyze the survival rate of dental implants in diabetic patients compared to non-diabetic patients. The parameters of the PRISMA declaration were used to elaborate the search strategy and answer the PICO question: Does it have a higher survival rate the placement of implants in healthy patients versus diabetic patients? Of a total of 177 articles, 15 were selected for bias analysis. It was found that there is no relationship between the survival rate in controlled diabetic and non-diabetic patients according to the analysis of the marginal bone loss and plaque index, however, significant differences were found between uncontrolled diabetic patients and non-diabetic patients.
