Ítem Acceso Abierto Prevalencia de fluorosis dental en escolares de 6; 12 y 15 años, de la parroquia Ducur, del cantón Cañar, Ecuador 2017.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2018) Saavedra Obeluys, Kelly Marlith; Vélez León, Eleonor María; 0116233923OBJECTIVE: The prevalence of dental fluorosis was determined in schoolchildren of 6; 12 and 15 years in the Ducur-Cañar parish, Ecuador 2017. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study. The sample of the study consisted of 48 students taking into account their geographical location, for the taking of data the WHO form was used for the evolution of oral health, based on the scale of the Dean Index for the observation of dental fluorosis. , later the data was entered in the Epi Info program See 7.2. RESULTS: A prevalence of dental fluorosis of 21% was determined, in terms of age a higher percentage was observed in schoolchildren of 12 years with 5 cases equivalent to 100% of the sample, with respect to the degrees of severity the degree 2 corresponding to very light results, being the most frequent with 15%, the sex with the highest prevalence of fluorosis were men with 25%. CONCLUSIONS: A prevalence of 21% of dental fluorosis was obtained. According to the age range, 12-year-old schoolchildren had a greater number of cases with 100%, the most frequent degree of severity was that of very light with 15%. %, regarding sex, men had a prevalence of 100%. This could be associated with the permanent completion of the permanent dentition at this stage, which makes the development of fluorosis more susceptible.
