Clinical case: the present case is a 29-year-old male patient with a clinical picture characterized by hemoptysis, thermal rise, asthenia, respiratory distress, night sweats, and progressive weight loss with a diagnosis suggestive of tuberculosis. During hospitalization, bacteriological and imaging studies were performed to corroborate the diagnosis, and antiphymic treatment was started, along with medical follow-up and weekly check-ups at the corresponding health center. Conclusion: in summary, TB continues to be a public health problem in which its diagnosis and treatment are key to prevent the sick person from continuing to infect his or her social circle, so adherence to the ministry's guidelines and applying its indications helps society to avoid self-medication and possible resistance in the treatment that is usually administered.
