Additionally, to provide updated information about that issue. This study aimed to identify maternal and infant complications concerning preeclampsia in teenage pregnancies. A systematic review was conducted by searching for information in the following databases: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Redalyc, SciELO, and the Virtual Health Library of Ecuador, covering the last five years. According to the literature review results, 80 studies were included; however, the construction of a synthesis table employed the 11 most relevant studies related to the thesis topic. The findings indicated that adolescence is indeed a risk factor for developing preeclampsia, and complications such as spontaneous abortions or obstetric hemorrhages, fetal distress, and prematurity are the most common fetal complications.
