It is of utmost importance to have a binding legal document that acknowledges people’s will when going through a state that prevents them from expressing their wishes regarding their preferred treatment. Therefore, following the example of foreign countries, a practical and enforceable document has been adapted to allow people to make known their wishes regarding their final days. It is relevant to understand that this document concerns the type of treatment a person wishes to have at the moment of their death, but not their wishes regarding their assets.
