Ítem Acceso Abierto Prevalencia de patologías orales en los niños del CNH del cantón Azogues(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Quito Parra, Domenica Estefania; San Martin Andrade, Daniela Fernanda; 0302805684; ., .OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of pathologies in children from the “Growing up with our children from the Cantón Azogues” program (CNH-MIES). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study. The study sample was made up of 255 medical records, and 155 met the following selection criteria: period 2018-2019, age range was 0-7 years old, both sexes, and containing information regarding the pathologies present. The data analysis was carried out using the Microsoft Excel program, and the statistics applied were descriptive using frequency tables. RESULTS: The most prevalent pathology was enamel caries in 40% followed by coated tongue 21%, dentin caries 16%, short upper labial hypertrophic frenulum with 4% and 19% was made up of the remaining pathologies of the study. CONCLUSIONS: From the analysis, it was determined that enamel caries is the most prevalent pathology, which shows that we still face situations of the presence of carious lesions in children despite the preventive programs carried out by health entities of public health.
