Ítem Acceso Abierto Tumor sincrónico de mama y riñón: reporte de caso(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Placencia Guartatanga, Paola Gissela; Maita Supliguicha, Jorge Marcelo; 1400823058Background: Synchronous tumors are rare pathologies worldwide. Synchronous breast and kidney carcinoma are extremely rare and only 11 cases have been reported so far in the entire medical literature. Description of the case: This is a 60-year-old female patient with a history of high blood pressure, hysterectomy + abdominoplasty (2002), who went to the medical care unit due to the presence of a nodule in the right breast. After a histopathological and ultrasound study, a diagnosis of invasive carcinoma with mucinous features, Nottingham 1, in the upper outer quadrant of 7.5 cm and a lymph node in the axilla, defined as BIRADS 4C according to the ultrasound report. The decision was made to treat with right modified radical mastectomy, plus freezing of the left breast nodule. During the tomography imaging staging control, a renal tumor lesion is confirmed, an ultrasound-guided biopsy is performed, which gives the pathological diagnosis of chromophobe renal cell carcinoma, thus ruling out metastatic malignancy of breast origin. Under committee approval, surgical treatment is decided. Laparoscopic nephrectomy plus hormone therapy for breast cancer. Conclusion: This case constitutes an atypical presentation of cancer, since it presented two primary origins that were different from each other without being metastasis between any of them. This type of rare pathology must be recognized to prevent and reduce its morbidity and mortality and thus begin rapid and timely treatment to safeguard the patient's life.
