Revisión de la literatura.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Morocho León, Welington Santiago; Piedra Andrade, Rafael Bernardo; 0106952013Bruxism is a parafunctional activity in which there is an unconscious habit of clenching or grinding the teeth. It is a multifactorial pathology that can be related to morphological, psychological, and psychopathological causes. Due to its etiology, it is considered a complex and destructive disease to which damage at the coronal, root, and pulp levels is also attributed, resulting in calcifications, pulp degeneration, resorption, pulp hyperemia, hypercementosis, apical periodontitis or pulp necrosis. The objective of the following work was to carry out a bibliographic review of bruxism in which the causes and consequences on the pulp tissue were analyzed. For this purpose, a qualitative and descriptive methodology was used in which the Catholic University of Cuenca digital databases were used. Similarly, inclusion criteria were established for the selection of information, among them: articles published in the last five years, validated with DOI/URL in the selected databases in Spanish and English. To conclude, it was established that, currently, doctors and dentists do not know the specific cause of bruxism; but they unify criteria, and it is associated with medical and mental health disorders that in most cases do not cause serious complications; however, it can lead to dental and pulp damage.Ítem Solo Metadatos Consideraciones clínicas y radiográficas para determinar la etiología en patologías endoperiodontales. Revisión de la literatura.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Ordoñez Luzuriaga, Henry Mateo; Piedra Andrade, Rafael Bernardo; 0105169379Endoperiodontal lesions, also called (EPL), are a group of conditions, both pulpal and periodontal, since an evolution can occur in the same dental piece, these lesions are characterized by a complexity in the diagnosis since they can present signs harmful, both endodontic and periodontal. Determining the etiological factors are essential for a correct diagnosis for the EPL where bacteria, fungi, viruses contribute and added to other factors such as trauma, dental malformations, iatrogenesis, root resorption, since these favor the advancement of these same lesions. Objective: The objective of this review of the literature is the clinical and radiographic considerations to determine the etiology in endoperiodontal pathologies. Conclusion: Endoperiodontal diseases are cases with complexity for the dentist, due to the difficulty of their diagnosis, for this reason these types of lesions must be considered from both parties, both endodontic and periodontal, in order to know their origin and thus be able to perform a diagnosis and prognosis that is the most effective for the patient, with the advance of the information of this type of lesions and also the knowledge that the dentist possesses helps the clinical and radiographic diagnosis to achieve a correct treatment for endo-perio lesions.Ítem Solo Metadatos Criterios clínicos y radiológicos de los tratamientos endodónticos para rehabilitación endocrown: meta análisis.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Astudillo Benavides, Domenica Camila; Piedra Andrade, Rafael Bernardo; 0105184980Objective: To establish the clinical and radiological criteria for endodontic treatment to determine the difference between the endocrown and conventional techniques through a meta-analysis. Materials and Methods: An exhaustive systematic review was carried out in different databases such as PubMed, SciELO, Scopus, and Web of Science among others. The studies were tabulated with the following data: Author, year of publication, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, and other information, according to the PRISMA and Consort Modified statement, they were also evaluated according to the Cochrane guide, with the items of different biases Results: The observed standardized mean differences ranged from 0.0273 to 1.4852, with the majority of the estimates being positive, the estimated average standardized mean difference based on the random effects model was \hat{\mu 0.6425 (95 % CI 0.0496 to 1.2354). Thus, the average result differed significantly from zero (z = 2.1239, p = 0.0337). The Q-test for heterogeneity was not significant, but there may still be some heterogeneity in the true results (Q (4) = 8.5752, p = 0.0726, tau² 0.2431, I² = 53.6752%). Conclusion: The established criteria are structural loss, decreased proprioceptive sensitivity, filling material, chamber conformation, adhesion, and root fracture. It is concluded that there is no statistically significant difference between endocrown and conservative restoration from the perspective of the established endodontic criteria.Ítem Solo Metadatos Eficiencia de restauración endocrown como alternativa rehabilitadora post endodoncia revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Vazquez Munzon, Martin Israel; Piedra Andrade, Rafael Bernardo; 0105902761The Endocrown is a partial or total restoration of the crown of a post-endodontic tooth characterized by having remaining dental tissue at the coronal level, achieving a complete coverage with the restorative material. The most important advantages of the Endocrown are that the macro retentive components are not essential as long as there is sufficient unoccupied area. In addition, the use of root canal posts becomes an exception when it comes to conventional techniques. Nowadays, dentistry is about using minimally invasive methods to preserve healthy tooth tissue and thus better understand the preparations to reduce unnecessary losses. Objective: To determine the efficiency of Endocrown restoration as an alternative for post-endodontic restoration through a literature review. Conclusion: Endocrowns are an option in conventional restorative treatment, offering a conservative and esthetic technique for the rehabilitation of endodontically treated teeth, guaranteeing proper adhesion and restoration success according to standardized parametersÍtem Solo Metadatos Estrategias administrativas en la optimización de recursos en los procesos de enfermedades pulpares(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2022) Piedra Andrade, Rafael Bernardo; Vásquez Erazo, EdwinÍtem Acceso Abierto Indiferencia al tratamiento dental en personas de 18 a 44 años de edad en la parroquia Sinincay Cuenca-Ecuador, septiembre 2018 – marzo 2019.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) San Martin Amay, Marco Vinicio; Piedra Andrade, Rafael Bernardo; 1104707052Ítem Solo Metadatos Prevalencia de Trauma dentoalveolar en la población de la parroquia Bellavista del cantón Cuenca en el año 2019.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2020) Rendón Macas, Gabriela Anabel; Piedra Andrade, Rafael Bernardo; 0705456689Ítem Embargo Proyecto de Titulación embargado con fines de publicación de impacto(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Loja Guaillas, Erick Fabricio; Piedra Andrade, Rafael Bernardo; 0105785976
