Ítem Acceso Abierto Intervenciones psicológicas en personas Lesbianas, Gais, Bisexuales, Transexuales, Intersexuales y Queers que asisten a consulta psicológica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Peralta Sarmiento , Lesly; León Prieto, Maria; 0105879050Throughout history, the LGBTIQ+ population has been pathologized and subjected to discrimination. As a result, it has been observed that these individuals have been prone to develop clinical symptomatology such as depression or anxiety linked to the minority stress model or internalized homophobia. For this reason, this research aimed to categorize the psychological interventions most commonly used in people from the LGBTIQ+ community who attend psychological consultations. A methodology based on a qualitative literature review with a descriptive approach was used. The search focused on recent studies due to the need to work in mental health with people of different sexual identities and orientations. The results highlighted in the research were about affirmative therapy and how it positively affects clients by validating their identity. Likewise, it was identified that by working together with other strategies such as systematic desensitization, creative writing, mindfulness technique, narrative therapy, and the positive psychology approach, LGBT clients improved their mental health and resolved their reasons for consultation.
