For that, it is important to conduct a preliminary nutritional evaluation, in which nurses for carrying out functions of early and adequate detection functions during the gestation period to avoid possible cases of perinatal outcome. Objective: This systematic review was carried out aiming to determine the role of nursing personnel in the management of malnutrition in expectant mothers using the PRISMA method, the procedures to be carried out, and their importance for both and fetal health. Methodology: Searches in Scopus, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and Taylor & Francis, taking into account studies published from 2018 to the present. Results: Nursing personnel plays an important role in preventing and treating malnutrition during pregnancy since they are responsible for providing guidelines for the care of expectant mothers and carrying out adequate procedures in case the illness is already. Conclusions: Nurses play a fundamental role in the early detection, nutritional evaluation, and implementation of adequate interventions, such as nutrition, education, and close follow-up; contributing to improving perinatal outcomes and preventing malnutrition-related complications during pregnancy.
