    Análisis de las propiedades mecánicas de bloques de hormigón con fibras de cabuya

    The purpose of this study is to contribute to the information on the mechanical properties of concrete blocks developed on the basis of a mixture of cement, water, aggregates, and the addition of the Fiber of Cabuya, materials were obtanied within the province of Cañar, the percentages of addition of cabuya fiber in the concrete were 3, 6 and 9% in relation to the mass of the cement used in the mix. The results of the tests according to the standard NTE INEN 3066 degree in this work reveal that the specimens with the addition of 3% Fiber of Cabuya achieves an improvement in the resistance to compression of 35% in comparison with the traditional block, in addition to the results of the tests show that the greater the amount of fiber best are the results of absorption, density and moisture content. It is also conducted studies of the aggregates as sieve analysis, absorption and moisture content, in order to determine if they comply with the regulations in force for the mix design.
