Ítem Solo Metadatos Evaluación de concentraciones de desinfectantes utilizados en ambulancias y unidades de atención pre hospitalaria(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Lucero Guerrero, Mateo Israel; Moscoso Lituma, Klever Antonio; Arteaga Sarmiento, Sandra Denisse; 010484168-9; 010526153-1Introduction. A significant challenge faced by health personnel is the resistance of bacteria to antimicrobials and their direct or indirect transmission, involving the handling of patients in mobile prehospital care units, generating vulnerability to the victim and the operating staff of the units due to the presence of pathogenic microorganisms at the time of transfer. Therefore, the units should be kept in clean and aseptic conditions by using of disinfectants in optimal concentrations. Objective. To evaluate the effectiveness of disinfectant concentrations. Methodology. A quasi-experimental, quantitative, and transversal design was used in the rear cabin of the units, checking with ethyl alcohol at 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, and 90% and sodium hypochlorite at 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.8%, and 1% by using the Kirby-Bauer technique. Results. The bacteria were found to be catalase and coagulase positive. However, they did not generate inhibition halos against antiseptic alcohol and inhibition halos of a maximum of 4.00 mm against sodium hypochlorite at the concentrations proposed. Conclusions. It was evidenced that the antiseptic alcohol in all its concentrations obtained an inhibition halo in millimeters of 0.00 in the selected samples. In contrast, in sodium hypochlorite, an inhibition halo of 4.8 mm was evidenced in a concentration of 1.0% and 4.0 mm in a concentration of 0.4%.
