Ítem Acceso Abierto Complicaciones posterior al bypass duodeno-ileal de anastomosis única con gastrectomía en manga (SADIS)(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Morocho Coronel, Jessica Gabriela; Verdugo Tapia, Juan Carlos; 0106097603Background: Obesity is a worldwide health problem; thus, bariatric surgery has been developed for adequate weight loss and control of comorbidities. There are several types of procedures, and among the most relevant is the single-anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy, which reduces the complexity of surgery for its unique anastomosis; however, like any surgical procedure, it presents complications. Objective: To describe the complications after single-anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy. Method: This research is a non-experimental, descriptive study of a bibliographic review type of scientific articles published in the last five years in English in electronic scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, Elsevier, and Cochrane, fulfilling the inclusion criteria. Results: Single-anastomosis duodenal-ileal with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S) presents a rate of short-term complications ranging from 0.0% to 15.6%, mainly anastomotic leakage, bleeding, wound infection, sepsis, and death. Long-term complications were observed from 0% to 10.9%, including GERD, malnutrition, anemia, vitamin A and D deficiency, and diarrhea. Conclusion: SADI-S is a safe and effective bariatric procedure in patients with morbid obesity or super obesity and has a low short-term and long-term complication rate; however, care should be taken with nutritional and vitamin deficiencies. More studies are needed on this subject to deepen it.
