The purpose of the study was to identify and describe the main psychological difficulties experienced by these parents, as well as the prevalence of ASD over the past ten years. The methodology employed was bibliographic in nature, with a qualitative approach. A thorough review of 81 documents extracted from various scientific databases was conducted, from which 57 studies that met the inclusion criteria were selected. Quantitative information was prioritized, and articles published in the last ten years were considered. The results revealed that parents of children with ASD exhibited high levels of depression, anxiety, and chronic stress compared to other parents. Additionally, it was observed that interventions aimed at these parents, such as support programs and family therapy, contributed to improving their emotional well-being and reducing stress in the parent-child relationship. In conclusion, the research demonstrated that parents of children with ASD face significant psychological repercussions, highlighting the need to implement support programs that address their emotional and psychological needs, thereby promoting a healthier and more balanced family environment.
