- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoUso de realidad virtual en la intervención de fobias específicas.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Mendoza Ordóñez, Paul F.; Rodríguez Reyes, María J.; 0105937940In clinical psychology, virtual reality is a resource that allows the creation of three-dimensional environments that simulate reality and allow the user to interact with any situation, such as a specific phobia. Likewise, it addresses many problems without the limitations of conventional exposure therapies, so it is currently used as an alternative therapeutic tool. This study aimed to analyze the use of virtual reality for psychological intervention in specific phobias using a literature review. The methodology used was a literature analysis with a qualitative approach of descriptive scope, searching for information in different databases. Research has found that virtual reality effectively treats specific phobias, maintaining long-term benefits. Therefore, practitioners should develop new virtual systems to achieve better results. To do this, they must often collaborate with interdisciplinary teams composed of clinical experts, engineers, graphic designers, computer programmers, and ergonomics specialists. However, as new technologies continue to advance and virtual environments improve in quality, they become more realistic, allowing therapists to manipulate them more effectively. It is better than specific common treatments due to its immersion capacity, proving favorable for its treatment.
