Initially, the bibliography about the production process, dosage, components, and mechanical standards of concrete blocks and the use of recycled aggregates from construction waste were evaluated and analyzed, after which the dosage percentages of the recycled coarse aggregate to be tested were determined. Next, the properties of the CDW collected in the study area were evaluated, and their physical and mechanical characteristics were determined for their subsequent application in the concrete block prototypes. Finally, concrete block prototypes were manufactured according to the percentages of CDW aggregates used for optimum strength according to NTE INEN 3066. The result of the research generated a comparative cost analysis between the new sustainable concrete block with CDW and the conventional concrete block. It is demonstrated that the block with 100% replacement of coarse aggregate of CDW notably surpasses the traditional block in terms of economy, density, water absorption, and compressive strength established in the Ecuadorian standard, revealing that the prototype contributes to the reduction of energy and raw material expenditure.
