For this reason, this study aimed to analyze from a psychological point of view the causes, prevention, and treatment of sports injuries through a literature review of different sources of information, with a qualitative approach of descriptive scope; This was developed using search terms such as psychology and sports injuries, psychological factors and sports injuries, sports injuries and the use of psychology, The digital database of the Catholic University of Cuenca was used to access academic networks such as Redalyc, Google Scholar, SciELO, and Scopus. Scientific articles published in Spanish and English from 2010 to the present were selected, resulting in 20 articles to analyze. The findings indicate that a combination of variables constitutes risk factors for sports injuries, with the most common being stress and related situations, as well as self-confidence, anxiety, and overtraining. For prevention and treatment, it was identified that the most commonly used psychological intervention programs include meditation sessions, sports coaching, and mindfulness when practiced consistently, along with the athlete's self-conviction to accept a new reality; these methods reduce the occurrence of sports injuries and facilitate reintegration into sports activities.
