- ÍtemAcceso Abierto“Eficacia y satisfacción de hilos tensores vs. toxina botulínica en el alisado del contorno dérmico: revisión sistemática”(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Matamoros Arévalo, Nadia Priscila; Aguilar Maldonado, José David; 0706377801; ., .Objective: To identify the treatment efficacy and satisfaction with tensor threads vs. botulinum toxin in dermal contour smoothing. Materials and methods: Studies were searched in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, according to eligibility criteria such as: in an adult population, facial rejuvenation procedure, and treatment located in the lower third of the face. Of 871 unique articles identified, nine were included for data collection. Results: Articles reporting on the efficacy of tensor threads demonstrated positive results in smoothing the dermal contour immediately compared to botulinum toxin. However, patient satisfaction was higher with botulinum toxin application than with thread tightening. Conclusions: An immediate improvement was identified in the midfacial region and the mandibular line with the tensor threads compared to botulinum toxin, emphasizing that its lifting effect is 12 months in both treatments.
