MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was conducted in three urban schools in Biblian Canton, with a quantitative approach and a descriptive study design; the document was field scope. It used an observational technique-clinical examination, and form 033 based on ICD10 coding were used to collect data. The sample consisted of 293 schoolchildren. RESULTS: According to the analysis of the structural enamel defects analyzed in children from 10 to 12 years of age from urban schools in Biblian Canton, the prevalence was 67.9%, and the most predominant defect was hypoplasia with 47.4%, affecting mainly 11-year-old children, sex had a significance of p=0.05. The dental group that emerged was the canines, with 26.9%; the most affected was the upper jaw. CONCLUSION: The prevalence of enamel structural defects prevalence was high; hypoplasia was the most prevailing deficiency; 11-year-old children were the most concerned; sex had a significant difference; the most affected dental group was the canines, and about the maxilla, there was more considerable predominance in the upper jaw.
