This research aimed to review the literature on the topic and nursing interventions for this pathology. Methodology: A narrative literature review was performed by selecting and analyzing 50 articles in scientific databases such as SciELO, Redalyc, ProQuest, PubMed, Scopus, and Taylor & Francis. Results: The worldwide incidence was 0.6-2.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. When researching in Ecuador, it was determined that four people per 100,000 inhabitants suffer from this disease. Among the factors associated with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, it was analyzed that the primary factor is viral, and Campylobacter jejuni was the agent. Therapeutic approaches included advanced life support in the Intensive Care Unit, immunomodulatory therapy with plasmapheresis (PE) or intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG), and the use of plasma and corticosteroids. Nursing interventions are based on an individualized care plan focused on improving the quality of life for these patients preventing complications. Conclusion: Guillain-Barré Syndrome affects the nervous system, causing disability and dependence. The role of nursing, along with the healthcare team, is to provide care to enhance the quality of life for these patients and help them cope with the disease and its impact on their families at the lowest cost possible.
