Revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Lucero Chuya, Jonnathan Miguel; Abad Martinez, Nancy Isabel; 0350173670; ., .Introduction: Suicide is considered a phenomenon with multiple conceptions, a deliberate act initiated by the person resulting in death. Worldwide, it is considered a public health problem due to high mortality rates, especially in adolescents, with the majority of causative agents being preventable, such as emotional, social, cognitive, and family issues, among others. Objective: To analyze suicide risk factors in adolescents. Methodology: A systematic review with a descriptive approach was conducted, the article selection was represented in the PRISMA flow diagram, and a review of scientific literature was performed on publications from the last five years. Information was obtained from Web of Science, Scopus, Dialnet, SciELO, and PubMed databases. Results: Suicidal ideation was found to be 41.4%, with a statistically significant relationship between suicide risk and females, older adolescents, and those residing in urban areas. Prevalent risk factors include psychological factors like depression and stress, followed by family conflicts, substance use, and bullying. Conclusions: The risk of suicide in adolescents is multifactorial, with significant differences in prevalence. It is a complex and significant phenomenon susceptible to modification through mental health programs to identify risk behaviors early, thus preventing fatalities.
