They are exposed to higher risk scenarios, possible unplanned pregnancies, and different sexually transmitted diseases, aspects that do not allow them to enjoy their sexual life safely. Methodology: This systematic review is a meta-study carried out under a Qualitative approach; it included fifteen publications from scientific information sources such as Google Scholar, Scopus, Medline, SciELO, Redalyc, and ProQuest. Results: Women use female contraceptive methods to stop ovulation, prevent unwanted pregnancy, and avoid any sexually transmitted disease. These procedures shown to be highly efficient; however, they can be modified by different factors that may cause them to fail at any moment without concerning the sociocultural context in which they are used. Conclusion: The inefficiency of contraceptive methods in childbearing women is associated with different personal, economic, and genetic factors, as well as other drugs use, their side effects, and the lack of knowledge when administrating the drugs. To conclude, it can be said that proper guidance is essential if it is carried out by a qualified professional. Keywords: inefficacy, women, fertile, contraceptive methods, factors
