Its high prevalence reaches ranges of 10 - 20% in adult patients. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (COLELAP) is currently the reference standard in this type of surgery. Despite this, complications are highly frequent, so it is important to understand these complications and their associated factors, as part of this scientific analysis. Objective: To identify the most frequent immediate and late postoperative complicacions due to COLELAP and their associated factors, describing them through a bibliographic review. Method: A descriptive research with a qualitative approach was carried out, based on the bibliographical review methodology. Results Thirty studies were summarized. The researches revealed a wide range of prevalence of complications, between 6 and 35%, among the most significant ones reported. Conclusions: The most common complications were abdominal pain, bleeding and wound infection. Although COLELAP is considered a standard procedure, it is still inherent to switch to open surgery, according to the complications of the cases; the emergent conditions represent a risk factor that increases the probability of postoperative complications. Medical expertise is an important factor.
