Therefore, it is essential to understand the different characteristics that are present in this phenomenon and how they relate, in this case, to marital satisfaction in couple relationships. Wherefore, the present study aims to correlate marital satisfaction with the risk of violence in couples by determining which individual and sociodemographic factors interact in this process. The methodology used in this study was a qualitative descriptive literature search through the search for information in various academic databases such as Web of Science, PubMed, ProQuest, SciELO, and Scopus, using keywords such as satisfaction in couples, marital satisfaction, violence in couples, spousal violence, levels of marital satisfaction, sociodemographic characteristics and levels of intimate partner violence, and also used the Boolean language nomenclature or, and, plus not. The results obtained made it possible to identify multiple intervening factors in the relationship between marital satisfaction and partner violence, among which were: marital cohabitation, sexual satisfaction, maternity, paternity, infertility, intimacy, conflict resolution, attachment styles, economics, and friendships, as well as the most common types of violence, which are verbal and physical. In addition, they identified significant differences in the levels of marital satisfaction and violence present according to the sociodemographic characteristics of the individuals, such as age, gender, education, culture, religion, etc
