Ítem Acceso Abierto “INCIDENCIA DE LAS INFECCIONES TROPICALES COMO CONSECUENCIA DEL CAMBIO CLIMATICO. REVISION SISTEMATICA.”(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Inga Macancela, Ana Paulina; Pérez Ramírez, Jacinto Eugenio; 0302500475; ., .Background: Sustainable development goals were established by 2030 to put an end to neglected tropical diseases. This study aims to analyze the incidence of tropical diseases due to climate change worldwide and focuses on Latin America. Methods: A systematic review of the incidence of tropical diseases as a consequence of climate change was conducted based on the PRISMA 2020 declaration criteria. There is no manipulation of variables. A first screening of 197 studies was obtained, and 24 articles were selected that met the inclusion criteria reviewed in digital scientific databases. Results: Eleven studies show that tropical diseases threaten public health; six studies have data on the incidence of tropical diseases worldwide caused by climate change and detail how this dependence is generated. Seven articles contain information on the problem studied, focusing on Latin America. Discussion: There is evidence that tropical diseases are increasing due to the effects of climate change and are becoming a threat to health. The danger comes from the emergence and re-emergence of diseases that were eradicated and that are not only located in tropical regions but are expanding. Therefore, it is essential to implement national plans that promote environmental care and mitigate the effects that alert national health systems. Others: There is no conflict of interest, and no funding has been received.
