    La importancia de la profesionalización en el ejercicio del periodismo deportivo. Caso de estudio la ciudad de Cuenca

    This paper is an analysis related to the importance of the professionalization of sports journalism, a case study in the city of Cuenca. Its main objective was to demonstrate the importance of the degree in any branch of the different professions. In addition, the study aims to encourage citizens to become professionals, as this is the only way to ensure that the country enjoys quality journalism. A group of professionals and empirics who practice sports journalism in Cuenca responded to a survey. The methodology applied in the research was qualitative to present the importance of professionalization in the practice of sports journalism in Cuenca and descriptive to highlight opinions and trajectory. A bibliographic review was carried out to determine what the experts need concerning this topic and observe the development of the people practicing sports journalism in Cuenca. Social communication graduates, professionals from other fields, and empirical communicators completed semi-structured interviews.
