Knowledge about cervical cancer is very variable, in low-income countries there is low knowledge, although in others it is high, however, the lack of knowledge about early detection through Pap smears or prevention is high. Based on the results, it has been observed that higher economic and educational stability is associated with greater knowledge and greater likelihood of having cervical cancer screening tests. Early detection may present several limitations despite the fact that health systems implement campaigns on cervical cancer, in such a way that several factors are present, in this review it was identified that socio-cultural factors such as fear and shame are the main factors involved in having a cervical cancer screening, in addition lack of time is another factor involved
