These foods have gained a more significant presence in children's daily diet. Objective: To analyze the impact of the consumption of ultra-processed foods on schoolchildren using scientific literature. Methodology: Qualitative, descriptive, and documentary research was conducted. Based on the PRISMA statement, search strategies were used in the scientific platforms SCOPUS, PubMed, SciElo, and LILACS. Findings: 57,676 articles were reviewed, and 17 met the inclusion criteria for discussion in Spanish and English, which helped to reach the specific objectives. Conclusions: It is concluded that ultra-processed foods adversely affect schoolchildren's health. So they can be prone to the development of overweight or obesity, increasing the risk factor for developing chronic non-communicable diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disorders during adulthood.
