One of these industries is lodging, an essential part of the economy. The operation of the lodging industry strengthens the country's resources. Over the years, many hotels have had to close, primarily due to poor resource management, inadequate strategies, and lack of liquidity, among other factors. However, the hotels that have continued to operate have had to make significant investments to improve the quality of the services offered and provide a better user experience. For all these reasons, this research is conducted to propose financial strategies that will increase profitability in the 3-star hotel category in Cuenca. The methodology is descriptive with a quantitative approach, for which the survey technique is applied. A questionnaire is designed for managers-administrators of the hotel industry in Cuenca. The descriptive statistical results compared prices, services, income, and expenses among the hotels. However, through inferential statistical analysis, it was determined that the variables of costs per room, employees, and complementary services directly influence hotel profitability. Therefore, it is crucial to improve these aspects to achieve success and sustainable growth in the hotel industry.
