Objective: To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of sexting among university students through literature reviews. Methodology: A systematic review with the phenomenological design was conducted through bibliographic studies from scientific articles generated by valuable sources such as SciELO, Redalyc, Scopus, Dialnet, Taylor & Francis, and Web of Science; these articles were published between 2016 and 2021 in Spanish and English. This review was guided by the research question considering the population or problem of interest and intervention performed within the study's context: What are the prevalence and risk factors of sexting?
