Biblián- Déleg, diciembre 2022 – marzo 2023”(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) García Perguachi, Jesenia Alexandra; Naula Auqui, Maribel Cristina; Latacela Lligui, Gloria Alexandra; 0302721949; 0302019120; ., .Introduction: COVID-19 is a respiratory disease characterized by several clinical manifestations; many patients present sequelae after overcoming the viral phase, called post-COVID-19 syndrome or prolonged COVID. Objective: To estimate the prevalence of signs and symptoms of the syndrome in the population aged 20 to 59 years in Biblián and Déleg cantons from December 2022 to March 2023. Methodology: It was an observational, descriptive-correlational study with a quantitative approach, with a sample of 465 people aged 20 to 59 years from Biblián and Déleg. The technique was the survey, and the instrument was the "SURVEY OF COVID-19 INFECTION". Results: The average age of the participants is 40.43 years, 51.2% are women, 50.5% live in rural areas, 21.5% are farmers, 36.9% are married, and 98.7% are mixed race. Comorbidities represent 20%; the most prevalent are diabetes mellitus and arterial hypertension. Signs and symptoms post-COVID-19 correspond to 20%, with a significant relationship between post-COVID syndrome and the following variables: comorbidities, hospitalization for COVID-19, use of masks, hand washing, and the ability to perform daily activities (p < 0.05). No association between immunizations and post-COVID-19 syndrome is identified (p= 0.177). Conclusion: It is evident that people suffering from comorbidities are more prone to develop post-COVID-19 signs which hinder their ability to perform daily activities.
