This microbiota depends directly on the exact location along the digestive tract, with the portion of the colon being the one that houses the largest amount of the micro-organism of the flora. The microbiota of the skin is directly related to the microbiota of the intestine due to the various mechanisms that exist in its formation. The objective of this study was to analyze the use of probiotics and prebiotics in the treatment of skin diseases and the relationship between the intestinal microbiota and skin diseases. A narrative bibliographic review of the scientific literature on the relationship of the intestinal microbiota in skin pathologies was carried out. It was concluded that the use of probiotics and prebiotics play an important role in skin disease, especially inflammatory type
