Ítem Acceso Abierto Trastornos de la atención en niños latinoamericanos víctimas del maltrato infantil.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Encalada Tacuri , Pamela; Polo Martínez , Eulalia; 01302876347Child abuse has been considered a severe issue within Latin America, being one of the central studies of UNICEF, because violence, sexual abuse, and psychological and emotional mistreatment of children have been categorized as one of the main problems affecting the development of modern society and harming the development of children throughout their lives. The main objective was to describe attention disorders developed in Latin American children who are victims of child abuse. This analysis was the result of a literature review with data extracted from virtual platforms and scientific content search engines to examine and counteract the methodological elements and main findings relevant to the study of Attention Disorders in Latin American children who are victims of abuse. Regarding the results, it was determined that attention disorders have a higher incidence in the cases investigated for child abuse; likewise, it was identified that the use of physical and psychological abuse has a higher incidence in cases diagnosed with attention disorders. On the other hand, it was evidenced that psychotherapy and, in exceptional cases, medication significantly decrease the symptoms of the disorder.
