- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoPrevalencia y Factores de riesgo de la Violencia Ginecológica revisión sistemática y metaanálisis(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Dutan Urgiles, Evelin Gabriela; Ramírez Coronel, Andrés Alexis; 0302366695Introduction: Gynecological violence refers to practices performed by healthcare staff during gynecological care, encompassing actions ranging from psychological and physical violence to inappropriate behaviors such as commenting on women's bodies, intentionally painful procedures, disrespect for autonomy and dignity, lack of privacy during gynecological exams, usage of derogatory or intimidating language, among other forms of abuse. Objective: To examine the prevalence and risk factors of gynecological violence through a systematic review and meta-analysis of scientific literature. Methodology: A systematic review of the scientific literature from 2019 to 2023 was conducted on Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed databases. The PRISMA method recommendations were followed to ensure the rigor of the process. Results: Meta-analysis of proportions regarding prevalence reveals a 24% incidence of gynecological violence while concerning the most common risk factors among the 27 selected articles are gender and age. Conclusion: The importance of establishing public health policies aimed at prevention to reduce the prevalence of gynecological violence is evident. These measures should address awareness and education and the implementation of clear protocols and preventive measures in gynecological healthcare settings.
