Due to this harsh and longstanding reality, this literature review aims to identify the approach taken by women who are victims of gender-based violence from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy perspective. For this purpose, several types of violence suffered by these victims were identified, and the different therapy techniques used to reduce and improve the symptomatology among this population were addressed. The study presents a descriptive- qualitative methodology. As supporting literature, 32 scientific articles were reviewed from Redalyc, Scopus, Jane, and ProQuest databases. The following keywords were used to carry out the research: cognitive-behavioral, gender violence, women, therapy, and victims. As a result, it is clear that in the several analyzed studies, different techniques such as cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, psychoeducation, and Socratic Dialogue are shown to be effective in interventions with victims, reducing the existing symptoms, generating self- confidence, and improving women's independence.
