Ítem Acceso Abierto Influencia de la edad, sexo y dentición en índices radiomorfométricos mandibulares valorados en radiografías panorámicas disponibles en la base de datos de la clínica odontológica de la Universidad Catrólica de Cuenca sede Azogues(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2022) Constantine Figueroa, Antonella Miosoti; Aguilar Maldonado, José David; 0705615656; ., .OBJECTIVE: To determine the influence of sex, age, and dental status on mandibular radio morphometric indexes obtained in panoramic radiographs of the dental clinic ofthe UCACUE. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present investigation is an observational field study with a quantitative, descriptive, and retrospective approach. Seventeen radio morphometric indexes were analyzed in 320 digital panoramic radiographs from the radiology laboratory of the UCACUE, using the SIDEXIS program for their measurement. The Excel program was used for data collection and the SPSS program for statistical analysis by performing Mann's U and Spearman's correlation tests. RESULTS: For 123 male and 197 female participants, the alveolar bone absorption rate (GRA by its Spanish acronym), cortical bone thickness (EC by its Spanish acronym), and gonial angle (AG by its Spanish acronym) indexes did not present statistical significance. CONCLUSIONS: It was proved that certain morphometric radiographic indexes present variability if factors such as age, sex, or dentition are taken as references, demonstrating the low variability of indexes such as GRA, EC, and AG in some instances.
