Ítem Solo Metadatos Ventajas del parto humanizado en mujeres gestantes en Latinoamérica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Choez Zavala, Jenniffer Daniela; Cárdenas Heredia, Freddy Rosendo; 0955740725Introduction: Labor is the final stage of pregnancy; its importance lies in creating the bond with the newborn. For the mother, it is a significant experience that, beyond giving birth to a child, prepares her for its care. However, during this process, in its various stages, serious consequences can occur for both the mother and the child. If not controlled, this can have complex short-term effects such as postpartum depression and stress, and long-term effects such as cognitive deterioration with a direct impact on the newborn. Methodology: This is a narrative literature review study, a broad review of literature, on the advantages of humanized childbirth in pregnant women in Latin America in scientific databases, such as Pub Med, Scielo, Cochrane Library, and Science Direct, using part of the PRISMA strategy. Results: Humanized childbirth promotes the maternal bond and decreases complications such as postpartum depression, as well as infant morbidity and mortality. Despite its advantages, it is still necessary to comply with the proposed policies for the humanization of childbirth, since a high prevalence of non-humanized childbirth has been evidenced in Latin America. Conclusions: It is concluded that the attention to humanized childbirth from preconception should be based on scientific evidence, regionalized, multidisciplinary, comprehensive, centered on families, culturally appropriate, respectful of women's decisions, as well as their privacy, confidentiality, and dignity
