Ítem Solo Metadatos Protocolo para el manejo de frenillos orales en pacientes pediátricos. Revisión de la literatura(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Chacho Auquilla, Edgar Vinicio; Fernández Muñoz, Tania Priscila; 0150225597Background: Oral braces are those bands of fibrous or muscular connective tissue that are covered by a mucous membrane that is located in the upper and lower jaw. In its histology it presents elastic and collagen fibers generally accompanied by striated muscle. The lingual frenulum is usually smaller than the upper labial frenulum, which contributes to the dimensions of a normal space between the root of a tooth and the gum. Within the dental field, it is vitally important to carry out this routine examination, diagnosing any pathology that involves the insertion of braces. Objective: To define a correct protocol for oral braces in pediatric patients. Methodology: Bibliographic review with PRISMA methodology using the PUBMED bibliographic source through DeCs and MeSH. Conclusions and Results: The present review demonstrated in its results the importance of an opportune diagnosis that guides a correct therapeutic conduct, likewise, the shortcomings are due to the lack of importance that these structures have in the intraoral examination, for which, the main conclusion falls on the thorough examination of each of these structures from an early age to prevent the development of more complex pathologies.
