- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoPrevalencia de terceros molares inferiores impactados, y posición según la clasificación de Winter en los centros radiológicos de Cuenca y Azogues 2018(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2019) Castro Argudo, Luis Felipe; Inga Delgado, Xavier Orlando; 0302018262; Crespo Crespo, Cristima MercedesOBJECTIVE: The objective of this research was to determine the prevalence of impacted lower third molars, and position according classification of Winter in the Radiological Centers of Cuenca and Azogues 2018. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study is based on a quantitative approach, with a descriptive research design, by field scope, under an observational technique, and by a retrospective temporality; where the access to the databases of the private Radiological Centers of the cities of Cuenca and Azogues was made, in which a total of 4150 panoramic radiographs were evaluated, after the application of the selection criteria, the final sample was conformed by 810 panoramic radiographs that presented some type of impaction at the level of the Lower Molar Third. RESULTS: According to the prevalence of impaction, this denotes a low percentage of lower third molars impacted in relation to the referential universe, on the other hand in terms of age the highest index was observed in the range of 20 to 30 years, plus sex with higher percentage was the feminine one; the most frequent impaction was Bilateral; there was no variation between the right or left side; and finally, according to Winter's classification, the most prevalent position was Horizontal in the male and Mesioangular in the female.
