The study adopted a mixed and descriptive approach involving the participation of legal professionals and officials of the City Board for the Protection of Rights of the City of Cuenca. Surveys and interviews were conducted to collect data. The results obtained highlighted a series of protection measures that could be applied to address the problem of child begging, including 1) The establishment of administrative prohibitions aimed at parents who expose or put their children at risk; 2) The inclusion of minors in protection programs; 3) The possibility of facilitating family reintegration and establishing specific prohibitions. Consequently, the prevailing need to reform the Ecuadorian Code of Children and Adolescents was evidenced, so that it contains harmony with the Constitution of the Republic to face this problem.
