Ítem Acceso Abierto Incidencia y factores maternos asociados a cesárea de emergencia. Una revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Carangui Saquicili, Romel Isaac; Gallegos Vintimilla, Santiago; 0301893087Introduction: Although cesarean sections are commonly performed daily, they occur without difficulties. Additionally, the relative risk of death from an emergency cesarean section is three times higher than a scheduled cesarean section, which also implies more elevated risk of complications. Objective: To understand the incidence and the main maternal factors associated with emergency cesarean section through a literature review. Methodology: Specialized information sources and databases such as PubMed, SciELO, Scopus, Medline, and Redalyc were used for data gathering. A literature review was employed as a methodology. Results: There are various complications that a mother may experience during an emergency cesarean section; among the most common are perineal tears, perinatal asphyxia, shoulder dystocia, excessive bleeding or hemorrhage, abnormal heart rate in the mother and the baby, issues with the umbilical cord, labor or delivery maneuvers not progressing correctly, among other factors.Ítem Acceso Abierto Incidencia y factores maternos asociados a cesárea de emergencia.
