The cervical region is considered one of the most fragile parts of the dental organ since the enamel presents less thickness and quality and where non-carious cervical lesions are established. Objective: To determine the marginal integrity of the restoration with etching and rinsing adhesive systems versus self-etching adhesive systems in non-carious cervical lesions. Materials and methods: Using the PRISMA statement, a search strategy was established based on the PICO question: Do etch-and-rinse adhesive systems present better marginal integrity than self-etch adhesive techniques in non-carious cervical lesions? Databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were used after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, including 15 studies. Results: It was determined that adhesive etching and rinsing systems have a more significant clinical success in restoring non-carious cervical lesions (according to the modified Ryge/USPHS criteria). However, there is a considerable percentage of studies with an average bias (33%). Conclusions: Etch-and-rinse adhesive systems have Alpha marginal integrity according to RYGE criteria in non-carious cervical lesions.
