Ítem Acceso Abierto Complicaciones de la hernioplastia inguinal laparoscópica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Calle Reinoso, Marilyn Estefany; Vera Pulla, Raúl David; 0302334305Introduction: The hernias that are located on the abdominal wall are considered a highly prevalent pathology in the world population since it is estimated that 55 percent of people are affected at some point in their lives by this disease. More than 20 million patients worldwide undergo inguinal hernia repair each year. As most of these patients have comorbidities, it is important to know the complications that this procedure entails. Objective: To determine the complications of laparoscopic inguinal hernioplasty. Materials and methods: An investigation will be carried out at an exploratory level, like a narrative bibliographic review, which will seek to determine the complications of laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. Works related to the research topic, published in Spanish or English in more recent periods or published within the last 5 years, will be included. For this purpose, academic databases that are within our reach, such as PubMed and ScienceDirect, will be used as a search engine. Conclusions: The incidence of inguinal hernias increases with age, especially between the fifth and seventh decades of life, which leads to complications ranging from herital morbidity, hernia recurrence, chronic pain and mall-related problems. Despite the complications that laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair presents, it is one of the most used techniques currently and that provides a faster recovery.
